    Privacy Policy

    Last updated: 17 April 2026

This page explains, in plain language, what personal information I collect when you contact me or work with me, and how I look after it. I take privacy seriously and comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection law (LOPDGDD).

    Who I am

I am Zuzana Fontaine, an independent interior designer trading as Zuzana Fontaine Design, based in Madrid, Spain. I am the data controller for any personal information you share with me through this website or during our work together.

You can reach me at info@zuzanafontainedesign.com.

    Information I collect

    • Contact details you give me through the contact form or by email — name, email address, and the contents of your message.
    • Project information you choose to share during a consultation (property details, brief, photographs, preferences).
    • Basic technical data collected automatically by my hosting provider for security and reliability (IP address, browser type, pages visited).

    How I use your information

I will never sell your data, and I do not use it for unrelated marketing.

    • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation.
    • To deliver the design services you have engaged me for.
    • To send occasional project updates, invoices, or scheduling messages.
    • To meet legal and accounting obligations in Spain.

    Legal basis

Under GDPR Article 6, I rely on the following lawful bases:

    • Consent — when you submit the contact form or email me.
    • Performance of a contract — when I am delivering services you have booked.
    • Legitimate interest — to keep records of past projects and correspondence.
    • Legal obligation — for invoicing and tax records.

    Data sharing

I do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. I do work with a small number of trusted service providers who process data on my behalf:

    • Website hosting and form delivery providers.
    • Email and calendar tools used to communicate with clients.
    • An accountant, where required for invoicing and tax compliance.

All processors are bound by appropriate data protection terms.

    Data retention

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Project files and correspondence are retained for the duration of our engagement and for the period required by Spanish tax law (typically up to 6 years for invoices).

    Your rights

    You have the right to:

    • Access the personal data I hold about you.
    • Ask me to correct inaccurate data.
    • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
    • Object to or restrict certain processing.
    • Receive your data in a portable format.
    • Lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos — aepd.es).

To exercise any of these rights, email me at info@zuzanafontainedesign.com.

    Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies needed for the website to function. If I add analytics or third-party tools in the future, this page will be updated and a cookie banner will be shown where required.

    Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the latest version.
