About Zuzana Fontaine — Interior Designer in Madrid

About Zuzana
Designing Across Cultures, Designing for People
My perspective on home has been shaped as much by living in different places as by designing them.
I trained in Interior Design at KLC School of Design in London, after studying Civil Engineering with a focus on building renovation in the Czech Republic. Since then, I have lived and worked across Europe, Asia and South America, designing homes for people from many different cultures — and creating new homes for myself and my family along the way.
Today I am based in Madrid, where I work on residential interiors while developing my independent practice, Zuzana Fontaine Design. My international experience has taught me that there is no single formula for a beautiful home. What feels right is deeply personal — shaped by the way we live, the places we come from and the things we choose to surround ourselves with.
I am continuing my studies in wellbeing-focused design, with a particular interest in neuroscience, environmental psychology, colour psychology and biophilic design. This growing focus explores how spaces affect how we feel and function, and how thoughtful design can support wellbeing in homes, hotels, workplaces and public spaces.
