Ekkamai Bangkok — Bangkok Apartment
Scandinavian Simplicity in the Heart of Bangkok
Bangkok, Thailand · 230 m²
Conceived and designed independently by Zuzana Fontaine

The Story Behind the Design
When everything around you is new, home can be the place that still feels familiar.
The Story
A Finnish family moved to Bangkok with their young children for four years, arriving in a city and country that were completely new to them. Moving from a smaller home in Finland into a much larger apartment, they wanted to create a place that would feel familiar from the beginning and reflect the Scandinavian style they loved.
The Vision
The starting point was the family’s own sense of home. We combined some of their existing pieces with new furniture selected in Bangkok, working with a light, restrained palette, natural wood and simple forms to bring their Scandinavian aesthetic into a tropical setting.
The larger space also gave us the opportunity to create a comfortable and practical family home suited to their new life in Bangkok.
The Outcome
A bright, calm and functional family home that feels Scandinavian in character while belonging naturally to their new life in Bangkok.

Client Testimonial
“We really appreciated how well Zuzana understood our needs. From the very beginning, the ‘look and feel’ was exactly what we were looking for. When we struggled to find the right furniture in Bangkok, her help selecting the pieces was invaluable, as were all the final touches. We are very grateful for her work and cannot thank her enough.”
