The Story Behind the Design
A home can carry many places and still feel entirely its own.
The Story
This country house near Bordeaux is our family base in France — a place we return to between different chapters of life.
Over the years, some pieces have travelled with us from Asia and other places we have lived, while others have been found more recently. Rather than starting from zero, the house became a way of bringing these different layers together.
The Vision
The intention was never to recreate the style of one particular country or period. It was to allow objects, materials and memories with very different origins to belong together naturally.
Colour, proportion, texture and placement create the connection between them. Some pieces have a long history; others are new discoveries. What matters is that each one has a reason to be there and contributes to the whole.
The house continues to evolve, which is part of its character. It has been built up gradually rather than furnished all at once.
The Outcome
The result is a relaxed, layered interior that feels personal rather than styled around a single moment or collection.
For me, it is also a very direct expression of how I think about home: a place can be beautiful and practical, while still carrying the memories, objects and experiences that make it meaningful to the people who live there.
